At Arise, we are deeply passionate about training mental health professionals in providing trauma-informed care. Within the clinical education program, clients have an opportunity to work with graduate student therapists-in-training who are dedicating a year of their doctoral training to specialize in working with individuals experiencing symptoms of traumatic stress.
If you choose to participate in this program, your primary therapy provider will be the graduate student therapist, however the person guiding and directing treatment, and who is ultimately responsible for your care, is a licensed psychologist with expertise in the treatment of traumatic stress. All graduate student therapists meet weekly with the supervising psychologist for in-depth discussion of ongoing care and treatment plans. Therapists are also engaged in ongoing learning about the impact of trauma and severe stressors as well as institutional and societal influences, with an emphasis on effective treatment of trauma-related problems.
